The purpose of the Rescue Unit is to transport crew and eqipment to the scene of an accident as quickly & safely as possible. In order to provide medical and extrication services in the event of a serious accident resulting in injury to or the trapping of competitors within thier vehicle.

The minimum crew will include 1 Doctor or MSA registered Paramedic & two fully licenced RescueTechnicians. Once the risk of fire has been covered medical control will be established by the Doctor or Paramedic, who will co-ordinate the extrication of the casualty/casualties without causing further harm or injury.

Each rescue unit must therefore be equipped to a high standard in order to facilitate fire fighting, stabilisation/extrication & medical services. Equipment lists are shown on the relevant pages, which can be accessed from the menu above or the images on the side of this page.
